The first day of school is essential, and simple things can make a difference. We utilize a building block system; parents must be enrolled in vocational or GED programs if they still need to qualify and show their desire to better themselves and the lives and relationships with their families.

Kids of Inmates birthday program ensures that no parent is unable to provide an educational, artistic, and or musical gift to their children, regardless of their financial status. Parents who are adults in custody face the unique difficulty of being unable to give a birthday present to their little loved ones due to the restrictions and limitations of being incarcerated.

Kids of Inmates takes a proactive strategy to prepare for the holidays. No Child should go without a present from their parent at Christmas time. The separation that incarceration imposes upon families is especially brutal. Formative times in young children's lives need specific attention and providing Children with gifts during the holiday is significant to build core memories of abundance and support during these magical seasons.
Research has shown that when Children associate these memories as positive, they are much more likely to feel supported, seen, and heard. We are creating a platform and system to provide a foundation to transform what could otherwise be a traumatizing experience for a child.
